Association of Surgeons Nagpur, (ASN) along with Department of Surgery, IGGMC, Nagpur under
Maharashtra Govt’s ‘Breast Cancer: Treatment and awareness mission’ and NGO’s Ashadeep Sanstha & Seva
Sarvada Bahu-Uddeshheey Sanstha , conducted a Breast Cancer and menstrual hygiene Awareness and
Screening program in the slum area of Rahate Toli, Nagpur on 25.06.2023.
Secretary of ASN, and Nodal Officer for Breast cancer mission, Dr Mrinalini Borkar delivered a talk regarding
the importance of early detection and appropriate treatment for breast cancer. She told about the various
treatment modalities and various schemes for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. A short
demonstration video of “Bresat Self Examination’ was shown.
Dr Nutan Deo, Gynaecologist, told about the importance of menstrual hygiene and use of reusable pads.
About 40 ladies attended the programme and were examined for breast cancer.
